We are the Mussers!
The Hans Musser Family’s 300th Anniversary Reunion commemorates the long history of the Musser Family. Hans, a Mennonite escaping religious persecution in Europe, journeyed to the New World in 1727 and obtained land in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Three of his sons, John, Peter and Henry, settled in Lancaster, PA and Jacob moved west to Manor, PA.
The Reunion will honor and showcase the Jacob Musser Family's history of traveling west to Manor, Maytown, Mt. Joy, Harrisburg and Shippensburg, PA. Then on to Kansas, California and beyond.
Their beliefs led them to help start churches, orphanages, banks, hospitals, colleges and mission stations. They farmed. They started businesses. They gave us a work ethic, a desire to seek a spiritual life and a love of family.
Mussers have family traits that follow from one generation to another: good singing voices and an ear for music, a desire to deepen their faith, a strong work ethic, overall good health except for two ailments throughout the generations. They have a good business acumen and they are generous with their wealth. They look for opportunities to improve their lives and boldly follow those endeavors.
